*What is energy?
There are many definitions for the word ‘energy’. However, in this context, it means energy resources such as fuel and electricity, which can be converted into another kind of energy, while fulfilling a purpose.
A few examples of sources of energy:

-fossil fuels

*What effects do the harnessing of energy has on the environment and how do they concerns us?
Human beings get energy from the environment
-What negative impacts does this has on our environment?
Affluence has resulted in an increase in the consumption of Earth’s energy resources. Humans extract resources from the environment to fulfil their needs and return them as waste. Also, the act of extraction of resources (e.g. mining) has left scars on the Earth’s surfaces which can cause several problems such as:
-soil erosion
